SUNCORP
SUNCORP

Suncorp aspire to be a digital first organisation, enabling customers to save time and have the best possible experience. Like many organisations they are finding the recruitment landscape challenging but have extremely talented employees with vast experience of Suncorp ways of working. Suncorp tasked Mentem with the challenge of reskilling front line workers to become business process analysis. Mentem’s solution was the co-design Business process Modelling learning program, incorporating formal, social and on the job learning, with particular reference to Suncorp ways of working. To select learners, Mentem ran assessments to identify employees with the highest probability of successful career transition. Mentem also ran a coaching program with formally evaluated role plays to select coaches for the program. The learning journey utilised best in class program design using content developed by leading UNSW experts in business process management and cross cutting skills.

SANE

SANE is the leading national mental health organisation for people with complex mental health issues in Australia and for the families and friends that support them. SANE aspires to become the leading data-driven agency in their space. With over 45% of Australians experiencing a mental health issue in their lifetime, but relatively poor individual lifecycle data being available, the opportunity to improve outcomes for Australians suffering complex mental health issues is immense. The Data Literacy of the team was limited and the challenge exacerbated by the stresses placed on the organization from COVID, placing significant barriers on our SANE’s ability to execute their vision. Mentem piloted a data literacy program contexualised to SANE’s unique requirements as a mental health provider and their specific work activities and systems. A combination of synchronous workshops with experts, coupled with independent online learning, coaching and on the job projects, resulted in observable positive results for the organisation, positioning them to achieve their strategy while upskilling their workforce in data awareness and use.

DEPARTMENT OF REGIONAL NSW
DEPARTMENT OF REGIONAL NSW

In 2020, staff were being directed to work remotely, for many this was the first time they had to. This pivot to remote work and relying on technology surfaced capability gaps. Staff were unfamiliar with this new way of working, unable to use technology and unsure of how to work in a dispersed team. This impacted activities like submitting online timesheets, logging WHS incidents, participating in team meetings and maintaining communication. These capability gaps also impacted on staff productivity, performance and wellbeing. The challenge to solve was how might we equip Regional NSW staff with the knowledge and skills to work digitally through a pilot digital literacy uplift program that executes on the vision of "delivering smart, simple and seamless personalised services available from anywhere”. Using a human centred design approach to understand needs, mindsets and skills gaps, Mentem designed a contemporary learning pathway that provided flexibility, relevance and learning “stickiness” to transform the workforce. We applied a proven measurement methodology to validate learning and organizational impact together with a playbook and business case to scale the program beyond Mentem engagement.
